A love for the outdoors and a passion for hunting have been passed down in the Burks family for generations. At the age of 65, Gene Burks, a true family man and avid outdoorsman decided it was time to make something out of the family’s love for the outdoors. His passion was the driving force that made the ranch such a special place.
He spent his final years building something that he truly believed in and was proud of. Sadly, Gene passed in 2010 leaving the family in disbelief. With all the years of hard work that he had put into the ranch it had to continue thriving.
The Dream...
His dream and vision lived on through his family. Now, his oldest grandson Clay Burks and wife Christina are carrying out Gene Burks’ dream of having a place for hunters and outdoorsman like himself to have a fun, unforgettable experience.

The Hunting Ranch
Native habitat from thick hardwood shelter belts, to the sandy creek bottoms along the Red River make up our hunting land. Our goal is to make your hunt and time spent at Burks Whitetails, enjoyable, fun and a memorable experience that will last a lifetime.
